Clydette Lankford Hance

March 10, 1948 - December 7, 2020

Clydette Hance was born March 10, 1948, in Bonham, Texas to Clyde and Dorothy Lankford. She was the eldest of three children and she became a loving, doting sister to her younger brothers. She was a proud graduate of Savoy High School, and there is where she met the love of her life, Gary Hance. On August 7, 1965, Gary and Clydette married and together they had two children, Michael Ray and Stacey Renee. Throughout their marriage Clydette worked several different jobs, but her proudest accomplishment was being the best wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother a person could ask for. Gary and Clydette were married for 55 wonderful years. And even to her last breath, Gary was the love of her life. She was a simple woman whose greatest joy was her family. On December 7, 2020 at 10:25 a.m. she was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Hance of Durant, Oklahoma; son, Michael Hance and wife Kristi of Durant; daughter, Stacey Rainwater and husband Todd of Celina, Texas; grandchildren, Jordan Hance and wife Leisel of Durant, Jacob Hance and wife Katie of Durant, Alex and Kelsi Rainwater, Zach Rainwater and Payton all of Kingston, Oklahoma, and Ashlyn Rainwater of Celina; great-grandchildren, Sophia Hance, Kaidan Hance, Nora Hance, Caleb Hance, Marcus Rainwater; mother, Dorothy Harris of Bonham, Texas; brother, Donnie Lankford and wife Sandra of Ector, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Lankford; and brother, Steve Lankford.

A graveside service will be held Thursday December 10, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Grove Cemetery in Telephone, Texas. Due to Covid-19, masks will be required at the service.  Social distancing is requested.

      Clydette was an amazing women, she and Gary welcomed John and I with open arms as family 30 years ago. I had many suppers at her house, she was a great cook and Gary always said grace before we ate.. She loved the Lord and it showed. I will always remember sitting in the living room talking for hours, laughing, having serious conversations, and never ever leaving without a big hug. It hurts because your not here with us but I know with all of my heart, I will get a big hug from you again!!!

      Remembering you will be so easy, but losing you was a day we would like to forget. How well we remember when you were born and what a joyous day that was! I loved you then and love you now. I will miss your dry wit and oneliners that were always so funny and fitting for the moment. I know you are reunited with your Dad, Steve, David and so many loved ones.

    RIP my pretty cousin. Always a smile and lots of memories as we were growing up. Our families have always been so close and we have had so much fun throughout our lives.     We are so saddened at the passing of Clydette, but happy that she is not suffering anymore. She was a dear friend and we have many fond memories of being with her and Gary. RIP until we meet again.

    I’m very sorry to hear of your loss. Your family is in our prayers. I will always remember roaming Savoy with Michael when he was over to see his grand-parents, Donnie playing basketball in high school and his GTO.
