Rev. Dalton Earl Jaco, age 91, went home to be with the Lord on September 29, 2024. He passed peacefully from this life to the next on Sunday morning at Woodlands Place nursing home in Denison, Texas. No doubt he heard the words. “Welcome Home, thy good and faithful servant.”

He was born at home on January 25, 1933 in Sherman, Texas. His parents were the late William Austin and Willie Estelline (Garrette) Jaco of Sherman. He was born the fourth of five children. He attended Sherman schools and joined the Marines at age 17. Shortly after enlisting, he met the love of his life, Helen Garner Jaco. They “dated” through letters while he served in the Korean War. On February 5, 1953 they were wed. He was employed with Conagra for 32 years while also pastoring. He faithfully served as the pastor of Whitewright First Assembly of God for 47 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Jaco; son, David Jaco; and grandson, Rickey Jaco; siblings, Bill Jaco, Bobby Jaco, Betty Kilgo, and Billie Jean Meek.

He is survived by his daughter, Darlene Ring and husband Rickey of Yuba, Oklahoma; son, Ronnie Jaco and wife Denise of Sherman; five grandchildren, Stacie Wilson and husband Ricky of Bells, Michael Ring of Yuba, Leann Hill and husband Ryan of Denison, Jordon Jaco and wife Emily of Sherman, Cammy Mills and husband Cody of Denison; eight great grandchildren, Emily, Rylan, and Macy Wilson of Bells, Reaina Withrow, Wyatt Mills, and Emma Mills of Denison, Allie Jaco of Sherman, and Gabby Hill of Denison; and only surviving sister in law, Evelyn Jaco of Sherman.

Pallbearers will be Brad Garner, Thomas Yeager, Travis Bellows, Ben Mitcham, Jordon Jaco, and Cody Mills. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Ring and Rylan Wilson.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mullican Little Funeral Home 754 State Hwy 56 E. Bells, Texas 75414. Funeral services will be at Whitewright First Assembly of God on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM with his son-in-law Rev. Rickey Ring officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright.
