July 29, 1918 – December 31, 2012 Grady Cobble, age 94, of Denison passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at TMC in Denison. Grady had suffered a stroke a week prior to his passing. He was born July 29, 1918 in the Anthony Community in Fannin Co., the son of Tom and Madge Hughes Cobble. He married Clara Christine Huber on October 12, 1945 in Denison, Texas.Grady was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Denison and retired from the Denison Fire Department after 35 years of service. He was a Master Mason and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the Italian and African campaigns as a medic from 1941-1945.
He is survived by his son Grady Cobble Jr. and his wife Jill of Denison; brother Larry Cobble of Lawton, Oklahoma; sisters Martha Mitchusson & Betty Morrow both of Bells; grandchildren, Karla Schliep & husband Jon of Kennewick, WA; Mickey Cobble and wife Lisa of Denison; Lorie Philpott & husband Ted of Lawton, Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren & numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Hebron Cemetery, North of Bells with Chaplain Alan Mattingly officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M., Friday at the funeral home.
