Helen Joye Abbott, of Bells, Texas, passed away at Grayson Court Assisted Living in Denison, Texas on February 24, 2024.
She was born on November 4, 1931 in Greenville, Texas. After graduating from Greenville High School, she married the love of her life, Wayne Abbott. They remained married until his death in 1996. During their marriage, they raised two children, ran a cafe, operated a small grocery store, worked delivery routes, built several homes, and served at Hebron Baptist church. Later, Helen attended First Baptist Church in Bells.
Helen was well-loved by her family, friends, and community, and she returned the love many times over. Her giving nature and kindness blessed many people and her legacy continues to bless those she encountered to this day.
Helen’s dedication to Christ, family, and friends was the center and purpose of her life. She never missed an opportunity to spread the Gospel and Christ’s message of love and salvation. Her family and friends always found comfort with her, and they knew how much she loved them.
One of her most enjoyable ministries was participating in the Angel Band. This group included close friends, and they ministered to area nursing home facilities by singing, playing music, and sharing the Gospel.
Spending time with her children, grandchildren, and sister, brought her joy and brought joy to them as well. Her grandkids will always remember her as “Granny”.
She is survived by daughters, Cindy Vincent and Phyllis Neely; sister, Jo Ann East; grandchildren, James Vincent and wife Kim, Steven Vincent and wife Elena, Amber Burks and husband Jared, Robert Neely and wife Charlene, and Issac Neely and wife Kristin; great grandchildren, Molly Vincent, Daniel Vincent, Branwen Burks, Caitlin Burks, Greyson Burks, Kira Black and husband David, and Marissa Hamerick; great-great-grandchildren, Christopher Black and David Black IV.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Abbott, parents John Causey and Tenah (Arey) Coats and Henry Coats, son-in-law Russell Vincent, and great-grandchild Joseph Maria Vincent.
Family visitation will be on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Mullican Little Funeral Home 754 State Hwy 56 E. Bells, Texas. Services will follow at 11:00 AM.

I’m so sorry about your Mom
The Golden Gates have opened to accept a great Person, prays to you and your family
Helen’s unwavering faith and service to God were an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to meet her. Witnessing to the very end, she has earned her wings and just rewards and is now rejoicing in her Father’s presence. May her kind, generous and caring spirit remain with all her family and provide much-needed comfort to each of them today, tomorrow and forever.
