November 12, 1927 –  November 23, 2014 Jacqueline Howdeshell Pointer (Jackie) long time resident of Bells, Texas passed from this life peacefully at her home, The Seasons of The Renaissance in Sherman, surrounded by her family to her Heavenly home on November 23, 2014. She was born in Sherman on November 12, 1927, the daughter of Leo and Kate Howdeshell. She attended schools in Sherman, Texas. She married W. C. (“Willie” “Bill”) Pointer at the Bells First Baptist Church by Rev. Odie R. Carry. Mrs. Pointer was preceded by her husband, their daughter Paula Pointer Bradley, 3 sisters Anna, Joyce, and Leona, 3 brothers Hatfield, Ray and Paul, son-in-law John Towles, sister-in-laws Janie Cowart and Josie Tarpley.
She is survived by daughter June Towles of Denison, daughter Patty Mitchell and her husband Steve also of Denison, son Mike Pointer and his wife Linda of Garland, and son-in-law Richard Bradley of Rowlett and sister Nina Wood of Garland. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Mary Bell Hopper and brother-in-law Robert Pointer and wife Dee all of Bells and brother –in-law Dale Munion of Garland.

Jackie was an active member of the Bells United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Women, sang in the choir, Lay Speaker of the Methodist Church and a Member of Emmaus.

She was a member of Eastern Star, appointed Grand Representative of Alabama in Texas and was a former Deputy Grand Matron of District 2 Sec. 2 Grand Chapter of Texas OES.

She retired from Texas Instruments in Sherman, Texas after also working in Dallas, Texas.

Funeral services will be 3:00PM Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Bells United Methodist Church. Reverend Steve Martinez will officiate. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00PM until 3:00PM before the funeral at the church.
