December 29, 1947 –  December 27, 2014 Jennie passed away peacefully on December 27, after a courageous battle with Leukemia for the last six months. She was born on December 29, 1947 to John and Betsy Harrington Haggard, both pioneer families of Plano for over a century. Jennie attended Plano schools and Texas A&M-Commerce, where she met Jim Little from Grand Prairie. Jennie and Jim were married January 8, 1971 at First Christian Church in Plano, across from Haggard Park, and where her life will be celebrated.
No one could be more proud of her sons than Jennie was. Jeff was born on June 9, 1973 and graduated from Texas A&M. Jon was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1977 and graduated from Stephen F. Austin and lives in Plano. Jeff and Haley married in August 2012 and live in Frisco .Their son Jake was born July 22, 2013. Growing up, Jeff and Jon’s friends frequently said they had the coolest Mom.
Jennie is also survived by her brother, Eddie Haggard from Houston, and her father, John Haggard, who is 93.
Jennie joined Gamma Phi Beta in college, where she made many friends for life. She enjoyed her Plano home and particularly her association with the Forest Creek Ladies Club. She loved the bunko games and parties and the many treasured friendships she made. Occasionally, she and friends needed to test their gambling skills with a trip to Choctaw, usually saying she made a little or just broke even. Jennie also loved reading and was a patron of all the Collin County libraries, always with a book in hand.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 31 at First Christian Church, 813 E. 15th Street, Plano, with a graveside service immediately following at Restland, 13005 Greenville, Dallas 75218. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, December 30 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Leukemia Society, First Christian Church, or a charity of your choice.
