Laura Faye Baker passed away peacefully on July 18, 2023 at Hofmann Mraz Care Home in Bonham. She was born August 26, 1943 in Denison, Texas to Mahlon and Helen (Binion) McLain. She graduated from Denison High School in 1961. She had already met the love of her life, Howard Clark Baker and they were married July 1, 1961.
Laura worked at Texas Instruments in McKinney for six years. She loved baking and decorating beautiful cakes. Her family was the center of her world, and she loved cooking for them. She supported them in everything they did. She was a big baseball fan especially the Texas Rangers. Laura and Clark loved to travel. They ventured to 15 states and brought collectible shot glasses to their kids from each state. We will miss her smile and her wonderful home cooking. Laura was the Queen Bee of our family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mahlon and Helen; husband, Howard Baker; son, Brian Edward Baker; brothers, Ernie and James Earl McLain; along with sister, Shirley Presley.
She is survived by her son, Marty Baker and wife Tammy; daughter, Tracy Collett and husband Rick; grandchildren, Whitney Lawson and husband Joe David, Harley Baker and husband Dwayne, Brian Baker and fiancé Olissa Cornwell, Taylor Doan and husband Garrett, Tanner Garrison and wife Jayden, Brianna Baker and fiancé Daryl Motsenbocker, Haley Milligan and husband Chance; great grandchildren, Hagen and Jaxten Lawson, Beau Baker, Shiloh Baker, Bodhi Garrison, Audrie Milligan; and her brother, Melvin McLain.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mullican Little Funeral Home 754 State Hwy 56 E. Bells, Texas 75414. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Mullican Little Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery, Savoy.

Marty, Tammy and family, I’m so very sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is so painful, no matter how long we’ve had them. Sending love and prayers for God’s grace to provide peace and comfort. My thoughts are with you all.
Laura was a very special lady, her smile was so contagious. Our lives were touched by this extraordinary woman. She will be missed very very much.
