Lia Dorman Adams was born on May 16, 1947 in Berlin, Germany to Ching and Freeda Chang. She was the middle child of three children.

She married Marlin Dorman, and was a military wife for 20 plus years, moving her family frequently. When Lia came to America, she taught herself how to speak, read, and write English, while being a mother of five young children. She was exceptionally smart and adapted to America with self-determination and hard work. To learn English she became a voracious reader of romance novels, and avid player of Scrabble!

Lia loved her family and especially enjoyed participating in her grandchildren’s school and sports activities. She really enjoyed baking bread and preparing schnitzel. Her family was her biggest accomplishment.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Marlin Dorman; parents, Ching and Freeda Cheng; brother, Hido Schulz; granddaughter, Lia Sue Eller.

She is survived by her son, James Dorman and wife Lana; daughters, Jackie Eller and husband Wayne, Juanita Garcia and husband Jeffery, Joanne Rhodes, Jessica Coglon and husband Mitchell; 10 grandchildren, Brian and Marcus Dorman, Alisha Eller and Robert and wife Mandy Eller, Jada Garcia, Blake and wife Danielle Garcia, Jordan and Brandon Benton, Tristan and wife Cheyanne Coglon, Trevor Coglon; great grandchildren, Silas Dorman, Ryder Dorman, Madison and Emma Eller, Grant Gracia, Graylee and Waylon Coglon; brother, Lui Chang Cheng and wife Barbell; along with extended family and friends.
