Margaret Sue Lloyd, born on July 23, 1932, in Dallas, Texas, peacefully passed away on May 23, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of Hershel and Florence (Melson) Lankford.
Known for her unwavering love and devotion to her family, Margaret’s greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She cherished every moment, creating lasting memories that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Margaret had a passion for cooking and gardening. Her culinary skills were legendary, and her garden was a vibrant testament to her green thumb. She found solace and peace in cultivating beautiful flowers and nurturing plants.
A voracious reader, Margaret could often be found with a book in hand, escaping into the world of literature. Her love for reading not only enriched her own life but also made her an engaging conversationalist. Margaret’s warm and approachable nature made her an easy person to talk to, and she was always ready to lend an ear or offer words of wisdom.
Margaret is survived by her two children, Deborah Thompson and husband Rick of Lake Kiowa, Texas, and Tina Willingham Smart of Bonham, Texas. She was a cherished grandmother to her five grandchildren, Matthew Thompson and wife Candy, Julie Thompson, Brandon Smart and wife Soo, Garrett Smart and wife Melissa, and Stewart Smart and wife Jessica. Margaret was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren, Slaten Thompson, Mia Wenska, Cameron Smart, Emma Smart, Keon Smart, Mia Smart, Jackson Smart, Sarah Smart, Elly Smart, and Faith Smart. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Margaret was preceded in death by her loving spouse, Al Lloyd, her parents, and eight siblings. Despite the profound losses in her life, Margaret remained a pillar of strength and resilience.
A graveside service will be held at 12 PM, Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Bells, Texas. Prior to the service, a visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Mullican-Little Funeral Home, Bells, Texas.
