Pepe Lee BeBout was born to Edgar and Luisa Bast BeAbout in Cheyenne, Wyoming, the second of four children September 3, 1952. He was an Air Force brat living in various places until the family settled in Plano, Texas. He died of Covid 19 complications on January 4, 2021 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman, Texas.
After graduating from high school in Plano, he attended Bible Baptist College in Springfield, Missouri and there he met Jannia Wilson and they were married in Springfield between semesters on December 27, 1973. They loved and laughed together for more than 45 years until her death on August 10, 2019. They were blessed with a son, Cheynne.
Pepe was an ardent follower of Christ whose obvious love of Jesus and His church could easily be seen in his sweet, and humble demeanor. He lived a life of joy and his infectious laughter often spilled over in his encounters with people. He and his family were actively involved in the “puppet ministry” in Grayson Bible Baptist Church, Sherman writing scripts, building the stage in order to share the gospel in an age-appropriate manner with children and adults.
He was in incredibly hard worker throughout his life with multiple jobs starting with throwing the city newspaper for all of Plano! Through the years Pepe was a short order cook, tax preparer and often worked two jobs to support his family; but his primary career was as a truck driver working for over 30 years until his death. He drove for various companies and logged hundreds of thousands of miles transporting numerous products and loads.
Pepe is survived by his son, Cheynne of Sherman, sisters Jaren BeAbout and Krystl Philyaw and husband, Scott all of Van Alstyne, Texas, brother, Tye BeAbout of Richardson, Texas. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Helen Wilson of Marshfield, Missouri along with extended family and many friends and brothers and sister in Christ. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jannia; a daughter, Angel Dawn BeAbout, and his parents, Edgar and Luisa BeAbout.
Due to Covid 19, masks and social distancing will be required in the visitation and services. Arrangements are the direction of Mullican Little Funeral Home, Bells, Texas
May God’s grace, live, mercy, peace and strength – support, surround and sustain all the family and friends of Pepe now and in the days ahead. Pepe, see you in eternity with Jesus.
My deepest sympathy for Pepe’s family in Texas as well as Jan’s. I first met this special couple when they joined our church in Seymour, Missouri years ago. Our church will always remember this wonderful couple. Pepe always had a smile on his face for everyone. God has rejoined this loving couple. You are missed.
Pe Pe and Jan were dear friends to Judy and I. They were both very loving and caring people. We live in Fordland, Mo.
Sorry your loss, he was a good friend at First Baptist Seymour, MO.
A great tribute to a wonderful brother-in-law who loved our Savior Jesus Christ and it showed thru him. His love for his wife and family were evident. He would visit his mother-in-law and brother-in-law when he was in the area, and continued to help his mother-in-law after his-brother-in-law’s passing.
I remember a time when his car needed a new transmission. He wanted to convert an automatic to a manual!! He and his father-in-law did all the planning and we ended up with the motor hanging from an apple tree in our orchard thru the process!
I’ll always remember his love for peanut butter. He was an adult who never grew up, favorite among children. He did have a infectious laugh that uplifted you. Always had kind words.
Sorry for your loss Cheynne, but what a mentor to follow, not just a godly man but a man of God.
Love you,
Aunt Brenda
As a true child of God, I’m sure our Lord and Savior welcomed Pepe home with a “well done good and faithful son”.
We go way back … grew up together knowing Pepe in late teens and served in churches as we raised our families. Our hearts are deeply saddened at the loss we feel but his happiness through life will shine now from heaven. We are glad he is now in the presence of the Jesus he loved with Mr. Jan! Our prayers are with the family and Cheynne. Sending our love.
I know that Pepe’s love for The Lord and his family, he would be delighted to have this blessing prayed over his family. May the love of The Lord turn your sorrows to joy.
The Lord bless you, and keep you [protect you, sustain you, and guard you]; The Lord make His face shine upon you [with favor], And be gracious to you [surrounding you with lovingkindness]; The Lord lift up His countenance (face) upon you [with divine approval], And give you peace [a tranquil heart and life].’
Numbers 6:24-26 AMP
Pepe had been a wonderful blessing to me and my daughter over that past couple of years. We will miss him dearly but are confident we will see him again one day.
My prayers with the family to be comforted in the days to come.
I will miss Pepe’s smiling face and his casual drop in at Seymour First Baptist to say hi and say a prayer. He will be missed and always loved by his church family here at First Baptist Seymour. You are home now with your wife but more importantly with your Savior.
Prayers to your family.
I love that smile with the dimples. I am so sorry for the “too soon” promotion to Heaven. Your family are in my prayers.
Pepe and Jan Beabout were special friends to out family. We met at church about 1981. We bonded right away as we had so much in common: we were committed to serving our Lord Jesus Christ, Cheyenne was almost the same age as 2 of our boys. And we were homeschoolers, so that was a bond also. Pepe and Jan were dedicated to bringing people to church, and teaching the children, and they supported each other in their work for the Lord. They were always faithful to their church, and even in the nursing home after her stroke, she attended the Bible studies there. Pepe was there for her all the time. Though he was still working, his off time he took care of her, even pushing her in a wheel chair to church services. I loved Pepe and appreciated his friendship and will surely miss him. I am thankful to be assured that he is with Jesus in Heaven.
