Phillip Brian Walthall passed away on June 22, 2022 at his home in Savoy, Texas. He was born on September 11, 1958 in McKinney, Texas to Dorothy Pearl (Moore) and Alvin Walthall.
Phillip worked for General Cable in Plano, Texas as a Wire Drawer Operator. He worked there for several years before they shut down. After a short unemployment period, he went to Truck Driving School and began driving for P.A.M Transport. He stayed with them for several years before going on to drive for many different companies. Some being Hoeing Trucking in Gainesville, Texas, CKJ Trucking, Encore Wire, Capstone Logistics, Eagle Transportation, and finally Quality Sand and Gravel. He absolutely loved his job, and would talk about it for hours to anyone that would listen. He was a very proud man.
Phillip and Paula were introduced by a close family member in the 1980’s and they began dating in 1993. They were married at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 5, 1996.
In his down time, he enjoyed watching old re-runs on TV, such as Law and Order, NCIS, old John Wayne movies, Street Outlaws, and wrestling just to name a few. He collected automotive tools and woodworking tools; he could repair almost about anything.
Phillip was always there whenever someone needed him, all you had to do was call him. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life. He was proud of all of them and loved them dearly. His favorite thing to do with the small grandchildren was to blow up a room full of balloons and watch them have a blast. They absolutely loved it and so did he. They loved spending time with their Papaw, and he was always looking for ways to make them all happy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Alvin Walthall.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Walthall; daughter, Brandy Walthall of Bells; sons, Ashley Woodson and wife Angela, Nicholas Hammonds and wife Erica all of Bells; grandchildren, Roselyn “Rosie” Taylor, Rohan “RoRo” Taylor, Paisley Hammonds, Kennedy Hammonds, Terra Woodson, and Collin Woodson all of Bells; brothers, Mark Walthall and wife Terri of Pottsboro and Nicholas “Nick” Walthall and wife Willie of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and numerous nieces, nephews, along with extended family and friends.
There will be a memorial get together in Phillip’s honor on Sunday, July 3, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Finishline Pizza in Bells.
