Priscilla Norine (Shaw) Whitmire was born on December 7, 1934 in Valliant, Oklahoma, to Roy Lee Shaw and Mae Bell (Stidham) Shaw. She passed away on October 21, 2022 in Sherman, Texas at the age of 87 years.
Priscilla married J. B. Whitmire on August 30, 1952 in Wellington, Texas. Together they made a home for their five children, Mike, Melvin, Beckie, Nancy, and Brad.
Priscilla was a devoted Christian and longtime member of the Savoy Church of Christ and most recently, during her brief stay in Sherman, she attended the Shannon Church of Christ. She worked for many years at the Mullican Care Center in Savoy as a Medication Aide and later at a care center in Sherman Texas. She was a loving mother and grandmother and other than her faith, her family was most important in her life. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed family gatherings, where she would cook something for everyone that usually included multiple sides to cover everyone’s favorites. She loved to read her Bible.
Priscilla is survived by her children, Mike Whitmire and wife Karen, Melvin Whitmire, Beckie Workman and husband Randy all of Bells, Nancy Cline of Savoy, and Brad Whitmire and wife Patricia of Bells; grandchildren, Tracy Moats, Lam Pham, Phuc Pham, Jennifer Furrer, Justin Workman, Shawn Cline, Stephanie Nettles, Heather Wilson, Taylor Owen, Trevor Whitmire; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Ruth Cotter of Sherman; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 53 years, grandson Steven Whitmire, son-in-law Jackie Cline, and three brothers and one sister.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Mullican-Little Chapel, Bells, Texas. Jeramie Sweet and Rayden Whitmire will officiate. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Bells, Texas. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandson. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Mullican-Little Chapel, Bells, Texas.
