Steve William Copeland of Whitewright, Texas passed away January 6, 2019, at the age of 70. He was born August 23, 1948 to Bobby Key Copeland and Edna (Francis) Copeland in Bells, Texas. Steve married Shirley Copeland on October 15, 1972 in Sherman, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Steve worked as a plumber for many years. He attended Kentucky Town Baptist Church, but was a member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church. Steve loved the outdoors, fishing was a passion of his. He enjoyed all sports, especially golf, and was a noted baseball player who still holds records at Bells High School. Steve was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He and Shirley loved to travel in their motor home, often taking six weeks in the summer to vacation with his family. He loved camping at Lake Texoma, especially with the grandkids. Steve was a Christian man, who loved the Lord. He was a 32nd degree mason, and a member of the Bells Masonic Lodge. He was a loving husband, father and Papa.

Steve is survived by his wife, Shirley Copeland of Whitewright, Texas; daughters, Tina Copeland and boyfriend Matt Dudley of Edmond, Oklahoma and Lisa and husband Jonathan Brummett of Van Alstyne, Texas; grandsons, Dylan Brummett of Van Alstyne, Texas, Garrett Bolding of Edmond, Oklahoma and Kohl Dudley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Lindsey and Lainey Brummett of Van Alstyne, Texas, Kerrigan and Kamran Dudley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brothers, Alan Copeland of Blue Ridge, Texas and David Copeland of Denison, Texas; nephew Scott Copeland of Trenton, Texas; two nieces; numerous cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Copeland, Edna Watt and stepfather, Henry Watt.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel, 754 State Hwy 56 East, Bells, Texas 75414. Interment is to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Mullican-Little Funeral Home.
