It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas (Tom) Harold Dobson at the age 82 in Sherman, Texas on March 13, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 2, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri to Wilson E. and Dixie J. (Dale) Dobson. He married Irma Jean Cortinas on February 15, 1980 in Houston, Texas. They were married for 33 years at the time of Irma’s passing on September 13, 2014. As of January of 2025, Tom celebrated 34 years sober.

Tom proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War in 1967. He was stationed on the USS Ranger and The USS Coral Sea, where he served as a payroll clerk.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irma Dobson; parents Wilson and Dixie Dobson; brother, Dudley D. Dobson; son, Thomas W. Dobson.

Tom is survived by his son, James Bailey and wife Alora; daughters, Emma Minison and husband Jeff, Sheari Vickers and husband Ron; with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 4:00 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery in Bells, Texas.
