August 17, 1944 – January 20, 2017 Tony Davis, age 72, passed away with his family at his side on Friday, January 20, 2017 at his residence in Savoy, TX. Tony was born August 17, 1944 in Lamasco, TX to Ivy and Myrtle Brown Davis. He married Virginia Mollenhour on November 30, 1984 in Bonham, Texas.
Funeral services for Tony will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells/Savoy, Texas. Reverend Bruce York will officiate. Cremation will follow the service.
Tony worked for many years at Southwest Pump in Bonham, TX and was also a Correction Officer at the Buster Cole Unit in Bonham. He attended Lamasco schools. Tony was an avid hunter and fisherman and had many fond memories of times at the deer lease. He also loved to play softball. Tony’s most fond memories are of his time spent with his grandchildren.
Tony is survived by his wife Virginia of the the home, daughters Tonya Dillion and her husband Aaron of Bells and Shleana Brinkley and her husband Daniel of Whitewright, sisters-in-law Debbie Davis Nichols and Martha Irons, grandchildren Carissa, Tarron and Braeden Dillion, Madison, Emma and Landon Brinkley. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leo, Bobby, J.D. and Buddy Davis and sisters Nadine Flippo and Loreta Davis.
Tony is also survived by his best friend and running mate Joe Gilbert of Savoy.
The family will receive friends from 3:00PM until 5:00PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
