July 20, 1954 –  October 18, 2011 Vurlenda was married to the love of her life, Ernie Hill for over 40 years. She has two children, April Hull & her husband Steve and Aaron Hill & his wife Amanda. Vurlenda grew up as an “army brat/preachers kid” and lived in such diverse places as Honolulu, Hawaii and Cache, OK. Vurlenda was a 1972 graduate of Ector High School. She earned her LVN at Fannin County Hospital in 1974, and then her RN from Grayson College in 1981. After years of working as a nurse in the Fannin and Grayson County area she went back to school and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Summa Cum Laude from Texas Woman’s University in 1999. She completed her educational goals with her Master of Science in Nursing at Baylor University in 2001. At that time Vurlenda started working as a Family Nurse Practioner serving rural areas such as Bonham, Greenville and De Leon, Texas. Vurlenda made wonderful life-long friends everywhere that she worked and was blessed by and a blessing to all those who crossed her path. Vurlenda loved serving her Lord and serving others. She especially loved sharing her hobbies by helping many family and friends with wedding decorating and photography.
