Wanda June Ballard passed away peacefully January 11, 2022 in Denison at the age of 83. She was the oldest child born to Almena and Henry Norman in Tom Bean on July 29, 1938.
June was small in stature but big in heart and character. She trusted in the Lord at an early age and was a strong lady of Christian faith. Her sons were in the church before birth.
June and her husband Charles were long-time members of First Baptist Church, Bells. She was actively involved as a Sunday School teacher, a church clerk and treasurer, WMU, and G.A.’s. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and her Bible was never far away.
Her lifelong interests were crossword puzzles, cross stitching, and crochet. She gave away hundreds of afghans, baby blankets, and other crochet items. She was very patient and long suffering. She was a wife to an over the road trucker, whose job took him away from home for long periods of time. She did what was necessary to raise her sons. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Almena (Stephens) Norman; husband, Charles Ballard; son, Mark Ballard; sister, Lanelle Norman
She is survived by her son, Stephen Ballard and wife Marsha; daughter in law, Vickie Ballard; sister, Pat Norman; grandchildren, Brianna Vazquez and husband Omar, Blayne Ballard, Shawn Ballard and wife Stephanie, Chris Ballard and wife Jessica, Stacey Ballard; great grandchildren, Stormie Ballard, Chloe Ballard, Lillian Ballard, Bayla Ballard, Mayson Vazquez.
