July 15, 1912 –  January 18, 2011 Services for Mr. William M. Herd, 98 year old Bonham resident will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday at the Mullican-Little Funeral Chapel in Bells.
Mr. Herd was born July 15, 1912 in the Danner Community, to parents, Joe Herd and Georgia Taylor Herd. He married Ruby Robertson on November 8, 1936 in Paris, Texas and she preceded him on December 31, 1993.

Mr. Herd was preceded by his parents, wife, and a daughter, Ginger Herd; brother Orwell Herd and three sisters: Rosa Mae Jasper, Mildred Barker and Mary Alice Little. He is survived by his daughter Judy Grounds and her husband Harold Wayne of Golden, CO. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Joel Grounds and wife Hilary of Boise, ID.; Rachell Grounds of Charlotte, N.C.; and four great grandchildren: Lexington, Avery, Bennett & Ryding Grounds; and several nieces and nephews.

Willie was a retired service station owner and operator in Bonham for many years, he was also an auto salesman for Carter Chevrolet. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bonham.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. on Friday at Mullican-Little Funeral Home in Bells.

Interment will be at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham.

Pallbearers are: Harold, Joel, and Rachell Grounds; Mike and Larry Little; and Bobby Don Brown. Honorary Pallbearers: Gary & Roger Herd, Jerry Hill and Lawrence Luker
