Services for Dorothy Mae Reynolds, 86 of Bells will be held at 10:00 a.m., July 6, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Savoy with Bro. Bill Sessom and Bro. Chris Merritt officiating. She passed away July 2, 2018 at Mullican Care Center.Dorothy was born December 24, 1931 to Jim and Minnie West in Bells and lived in or near Bells her entire life. She married James Reynolds on January 18, 1948. They were married for 70 years.
Dorothy was a homemaker and mother to her four children. She was active as a room mother and helping with school activities for all four kids. She later went to work for the printing company in Savoy and then worked for Shaffer Grocery in Bells for 13 years. She retired from Bells ISD after working in the cafeteria for 10 years.
Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church of Bells where she attended until her health began to decline. She also attended Hebron Baptist Church when her children were growing up and was baptized in the Red River. Dorothy was well known for her chocolate and coconut cream pies. She also loved watching the Texas Rangers.
She is survived by her husband James of Clyde Cosper Veterans Home in Bonham, four children Chester Reynolds of Bells, Debby Bomar and husband Mike of Savoy, Arnie Reynolds and wife Vicky of Savoy and Steve Reynolds and wife Brenda of Prosper. She is also survived by six grandchildren Kristi Wilbur and husband Mike of Lucas, Kory Bomar and wife Amanda of Fort Worth, Travis Reynolds and wife Erin of Leonard, Jeremy Reynolds of Savoy, Erin Galvan and husband Jon of Plano and Brittany Baum and husband Stephen of Wylie. Also, eight great grandchildren Finley and Griffin Wilbur, Ezra and Eisley Bomar, Jacob and Emma Reynolds, Alex Galvan and Riley Baum, sisters-in-law Frances Reynolds of Sherman and Doris West of Bonham and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Roy and Jimmie West and one grandson Brian Reynolds. Visitation will be Thursday July 5, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Savoy.
Pallbearers will be Travis Reynolds, Jeremy Reynolds, Kory Bomar, Mike Wilbur, Jon Galvan, and Stephen Baum. Honorary pallbearers will be Obie Rutledge and Rayce Guess.
