James Arthur Kinnaird, 93, of Ector, Texas passed away July 22, 2018. He was born in Telephone, Texas on July 31, 1924 to Leonard Kinnaird and Rebecca (Norman) Kinnaird. Arthur married the love of his life, Frances “Geraldine” Manor on August 11, 1947 in Bonham, Texas. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was a 32nd degree Mason. Arthur served his country in the United States Army in the Pacific Front in World War II. He worked for Fairmont Foods for 25 years, Quickle Texaco, A&A food stores all in Lawton, Oklahoma. Arthur never met a stranger, he was a people person and jokester. He had a “saying” for every occasion, “I hear you clucking but I can’t find your nest”. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing. James was a mechanic genius and “if he couldn’t fix it, it wasn’t broke”. He was a mayor pro tem and councilman in Ector for several years.
He is survived by his daughter Donna Atchley and husband Robert of Ector, Texas; daughter Pamela Bodine and husband Bruce of Bells, Texas; grandsons, Bobby Lee Atchley of Bonham, Texas, John Arthur Atchley of Ector, Texas, James Hawkins of Lawton, Oklahoma, Jeremy Hawkins of Ector, Texas, Zachary Lorance of Ector, Texas, Michael Bodine and wife Bibi of Austin, Texas, Thomas Flanery and wife Denise of Arrington, Tennessee, Billy Flanery and wife Stacy of Graham, Washington, Joseph Flanery and wife Heather of Bonham, Texas; granddaughters, Stefanie Pruett and husband Jason of Bonham, Texas, Lacie Partridge and husband Michael of Telephone, Texas, Stephanie Lawrence and husband Jamie of Whitewright, Texas, Angela McClung and husband Nathan of Denver, Pennsylvania; twenty-one great grandchildren; sister Dorothy St. Clair and husband Glen of Cochise, Arizona; sister-in-law Judy Manor of Texarkana, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Arthur is preceded in death by his loving wife Geraldine who passed away in 2013; parents, L.N. and Rebecca Kinnaird; brothers, Joseph Kinnaird, L.N. Kinnaird Jr., Elvis Kinnaird; sisters, Dovie Woodcock and Martha Berry.
The family will receive friends for a visitation Friday, July 27, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Mullican Little Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Mullican Little Funeral Chapel in Bells, Texas 754 State Hwy 56 E. Bells, Texas 75414. Interment will follow at Carson Cemetery in Ector, Texas.
Pallbearers will be James Hawkins, Jeremy Hawkins, Bobby Atchley, John Atchley, Michael Partridge, Jason Pruett, Zach Lorance and Joseph Flanery. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Manis, Jamie Lawrence, Billy Flanery, Thomas Flanery, Danny Dowling and Chris Manis.
