November 24, 1941 –  April 7, 2008 Cookie was retired from General Telephone Company and a member of the The First Christian Church. She graduated from Eastern Hills High School in Fort Worth and received the coveted Honorary Chapter Farmer Degree from the Future Farmers of America in 1989.
